New Face routine Pt.2

Part 1: http://lucysbeauty99.blogspot.co.uk/2013/04/so-i-was-in-chester-other-week-and.html
Hello!
Sorry it's been more than (quote): 'a few days,' I have been busy 'revising' (a.k.a 'procrastinating') for my exams next week. But enough about me, let's get on with the haul/review/routine...

1. LUSH Tea Tree Toner Water
This is a very relaxing and 'kind-to-skin' toner and I love it to bits! For application, I spray it onto a cotton pad and then wipe all over my face. The tea tree makes it feel great and do great things for the skin so it is generally a really nice product!
Rating: :) :) :) :)

2. Body Shop Tea Tree Foaming Facial Cleanser
This product kind of comes hand in hand with the Body Shop exfoliating scrub I talked about in the last post, wheras this one is the cleanser. I really love the design of the product- it is liquid inside and comes out through the nozzle in the top as a fresh foam. The foam cleanses and lathers really well and leaves your face refreshed and squeaky clean so I love it!
Rating: :) :) :) :) :

3. Simple Facial Scrub
Okay so I know I said that this was 'like rubbing gravel onto your face' however I have had a revelation and I now really like this product. It's not the best scrub in the world; the hard scrubby bits, (have no idea what to call them,) are pretty small so it doesn't do so much on the exfoliating side, however it does smooth your skin and smells pretty good and fresh too!
Rating: :) :) :) :

4. LUSH Angels on Bare Skin facial cleanser
I know what you're thinking: 'how did those wood-lice get into Lucy's cleanser?! Eww!'
Yes, this cleanser does look horrific but you must never judge a book by it's cover! This product kind of works in 2 ways, as a cleanser and as an exfoliator. It was recommended to be by one of the LUSH workers instead of ocean salt and I have really been enjoying using it. It freshens and cleans the face well and is a really great buy!
Rating: :) :) :) :) :
So overall I'm really pleased with every product I've bought and been using and I highly recommend all of them to you!

New Face Routine Pt.1

So, I was in Chester the other week and picked up some new stuff which I have now added to my facial routine! I've had the products for about 2 weeks now, and I'm confident enough to give you a review of those, as well as some I've already mentioned so here we goooo!!!

1. Johnson's baby lotion

I have already reviewed this product as part of my old skincare routine, yet my opinion remains the same; I do know I am not a baby, yet this lotion is really great as a pure face wash. It doesn't contain anything unnatural and leaves skin SUPER soft!
Rating: :) :) :) :)

2. Lush Grease Lightning Spot Treatment

Tragically, I don't have a LUSH near me, so I was soooo happy to be able to go to the Chester one and pick up a few bits. If you didn't know this already, LUSH is AMAZING! The staff are sooo helpful and friendly and the products are just perfect! But back to this product, I have really been enjoying using it. It definitely decreases the appearance of spots and blemishes. One thing I found not so good is the ease of actually getting it out of the bottle. For me, too much comes out too fast and I always end up putting bits back in. Otherwise, practically perfect
Rating: :) :) :) :)
3. Simple Facial Wash Gel
This gel I picked up in Primark for a bargain of £1 and I have loved it so far! It lathers really well on your face and feels very natural and clean. I would definitely buy this again and larger next time, because Simple washes always end up running out all too soon on me!
Rating: :) :) :) :) :

4. Body Shop Blackhead Exfoliating scrub
It's really annoying me that the picture won't sit under the title on this one, but here it is! I just bought this to exfoliate and not specifically because of the 'blackhead' part however I have still really loved this product as a scrub and the tea tree has really helped my skin!
Rating: :) :) :) :

So there you go, that is Part 1 of my Face-care routine and Part 2 should come in the next few days, so be sure to follow to find out! ;)
I think it's always an important thing to do to change your Face-care routine every so often and it's always fun buying and trying new products. I hope you enjoyed reading this and found it helpful, suggestions are always welcome in the comments and I hope you're all having a great day!

Rimmel review (Pt.2)- Face and Lips

So, this is Part 2 of my Rimmel review, which will be including 6 lip and face products
Here we goooo! :)

Wake Me Up Foundation
By far my favourite foundation, this product really helps to 'Wake me up.' After use, my skin looks radiant, even and bright. A little goes a long way with this and so the bottle will last a good long time. I think Wake me up foundation is AMAZING!
Pros- Radiance
       - Packaging
       - Confidence in a bottle
       - Even finish
Cons- NONE!
Rating: :) :) :) :) :)
Price: £8.99 (well worth it though)

Wake Me Up Concealer
Carrying on on the Wake me up line, I also have the brand's concealer. Unfortunately though, I can't provide a thorough review as instead of being in the shade 'Ivory' which my foundation is in, it's a shade darker in 'Soft Beige,' so doesn't fit. However, when I did try it , it was very good quality and I look forward to wearing it in Summer when, (hopefully,) I will have a tan :P
Pros- Good concealer
Cons- Mine is a shade darker than I wanted
Rating: I feel bad giving one as I haven't tried it out properly so I won't rate it
Price: £5.49 (Boots)
Apocalips Lip Lacquer
There has been SO much hype about Apocalips recently so the other day in Boots I thought 'I just have to try this'
So far, I have had no regrets at all for jumping on this bandwagon. This lipgloss gives great, long lasting colour and makes lips look a lot fuller. Also, the colour choice is great, (mine is Celestial,) and goes from bright cherry to nude.
Pros- Moisture
       - Makes lips look fuller
       - Colour range
Cons- Application can be trickier than other
lipglosses, but this is just me being picky
Rating: :) :) :) :) (so far)
Price: £5.99 (Boots)
Stay Matte Pressed Powder
There are lots of people raving about this pressed powder and I'm afraid I might be the only one who thinks it doesn't deserve as much as it gets.
Personally, I do really like this product but I wouldn't say it is 'amazing' or 'does your skin wonders.' Yes it keeps your make-up in place for a good while, but I can't see the visual difference in 'minimizing pores' or 'controlling shine' that it claims to do.
Pros- Keeps make-up on for a while
-Feels light and natural
Cons- Personally, I don't think its as great as people make out
Rating: :) :) :) (and a half)
Price: £3.99<Bargainalert
Kate Moss Matte Lipstick
Again, another product that has been hugely hyped about and I have to say, I love it too. The pigmentation is absolutely perfect and it is extremely nourishing for the lips. It comes in very bright shades, something which I'm not so comfortable in so I haven't worn this product a lot, despite desperately wanting to.
Pros- Pigmentation
       - Moisture
       - Long lasting
       - Easy to apply
Cons- Almost too beautiful to be true
Rating: :) :) :) :) (because I don't wear it a lot)
Price: £5.49 (Boots)<BARGAINALERT
Lasting Finish 25hr Foundation
This is a recent buy for me, as I discovered that I was only really using my Wake Me Up foundation and needed to switch up my routine, so I went and bought this!
I love the packaging of almost every Rimmel product, this one particularly. The foundation has great staying power, although you need a little bit more than the wake me up to make it noticeable on your skin. Overall though, this is an above average foundation and I think it would work for anyone.
Pros- Lasts a long time
- Good coverage
- Nice packaging
-Hydrating
Cons-Needs a bit for it to be noticeable
Rating: :) :) :) :)
Price: £6.99 (Boots)

So, we have come to an end of our Rimmel journey. Overall, Rimmel are my favourite brand and have brought out some FABULOUS products in the last year or two. I hope I have given you some insight as to some of the best buys from Rimmel and suggestions are always welcome in the comments!
Looking forward to writing soon,
Lucy xx

Rimmel Review (Pt.1)- Eyes

Only recently did I notice that the majority of my products are Rimmel, and I now feel I have gained a wide'ish' experience of the brand and their mostly good, although occasionally bad, products. In this post and the next I will be reviewing 12 products and I hope this gives you insight to what an AMAZING brand Rimmel is because, believe me, I know how it feels to walk up to the Rimmel section of Boots and have NO CLUE WHATSOEVER which products are even worth the price tag :)
Oh look, now I've gone and written a really long introduction. Silly me. Oh well, lets get cracking!

Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal (Eyeliner)

This has to be my favourite eyeliner by far. It is a bit hard to see in the picture, (sorry,) but the actual pen part is very thick and so provides a really defined line. It is also super pigmented and super easy to put on, which is always a bonus for someone like me :P
Pros- Pigmentation
       - Good Price
       - Easy to use
Cons- Has to be sharpened frequently and can be          tricky to do so
Overall, I think this is a BRILLIANT product and deserves 4 and a half smilies :) :) :) :) :
Price- £3.99 (Boots)

Scandaleyes Mascara
Also in the scandaleyes range is this superb mascara which, although recently bought, I have been LOVING!!! Lashes look really volumised and pumped up so this is a great buy!
Pros- Volume
- Don't look fake
- Brings confidence
Cons- I honestly cannot think of any
Rating: :) :) :) :) :
Price: £6.99 (Boots)
Glam'eyes Professional Liquid Liner
To be honest, there's not much I can say about this product as I'm really not a fan of liquid liners, they're fiddly, easy to mess up, and if they poke you in the eye it HUUURTS!!!
While I did use this product, I guess it was okay. It is my only liquid liner and maybe I will return to their eye-poking abode one day but for now, I think I'm fine
Pros- It was good for a liquid liner
       - Stayed on all day
Cons- Bendy wand
        - Made me cry
        - Tricky
       - I think I'd better stop, this could go on for a while
Rating: :) (Simply because it is a liquid liner)
Price: £5.29 (Boots)
Glam'eyes Quad Eyeshadow
I have only just got into eyeshadows really, as before I found them quite tedious and not something to be bothered with. This is one of my favourite eyeshadow thingys, which I received at Christmas. It comes with a helpful applicator and is PERFECT for a basic smokey eye.
Pros- Pigmentation
- Good colour (on this one)
Cons- Colours of the other quads don't look as good
-Doesn't last very long through the day
- Not enough for £6.99
Rating: :) :)
Price: £6.99 (Boots)
Eyeliner Pencils (Special Eyes and Soft Kohl)
Because of using my scandaleyes liner so much recently, I have kind of rejected these 2 liners.
The black magic special eyes liner is one which I used to use all the time but got annoyed with the constant sharpening demand. The denim blue soft Kohl liner I got for Christmas and have only used once since, maybe because it's blue and I tend to go more for black
Pros- Both good for pencil liners
       - Precision
Cons- Hard to put on
Rating: :) :)
Price: Special Eyes: Not sold anymore
          Soft Kohl: £2.99

Extra Super Lash Mascara
Last, but in no means least is one of my other favourtie mascaras and also one of which I think is quite underrated. The thing that I like about this mascara is the fact that  it gives a very natural, subtle look, (meaning I can wear it to school and not be noticed.)  It also, with more coats, gives great volume and builds lashes up very well indeed.
Pros- Flexibility
-Nice wand
-Volume
Cons- Might take a few coats to be as voluminous as you want it
Rating: :) :) :) :)
Price (with new packaging): £4.99 (Boots)

Thanks for reading! Please follow and comment suggestions for more! :)

Cute Easter nails (Bunny and Chick)

Happy (almost) Easter everyone!
Yesterday, I tried out this really cute Easter design on my friend Becca. I just thought I'd run you through what I did so maybe you can try it out for yourself!

1. Collect your polishes- These are the nail polish colours I used to create these designs
White, Black/Dark brown, Light pink, Orange, Yellow, Clear and Light Blue
2. Base coat with Clear nail polish

3. Paint 4 nails Light Blue and 1 nail yellow

4. (Optional) Using a dotting tool, (I made mine by sticking a pin into the rubber on the end of a pencil) create dots like these on 3 of your nails

5. On the yellow nail by using a striper, (I made mine by trimming down a paintbrush) create the top of
a cracked eggshell

6. On one blue nail (without dots) create a semi-circle at the bottom of the nail and draw the ears pointing upwards with the striper

7. Chick- Add 2 black dots and then 2 smaller white dots for eyes and using the striper, create an orange beak
Rabbit- Add 2 black dots and then 2 smaller white dots for eyes and using the striper dipped in light pink, draw 2 pink lines up the ears and a cute nose

So, there you have it! Our cute Easter nail design is done!
Hope you all have a great Easter Holiday and I will be writing again soon,
Lucy Xx

The Body Shop Review

The Body Shop Review
I really love the Body Shop products. They usually arrive in large quantities at our house over Christmas and so I have had time to use and review some of my favourites. The Body Shop is also really good as it is against animal testing so, due to their efforts, animal testing for cosmetics has been banned as of today! This is AMAZING!!!
But let's get on with the show...

'Aloe soothing Day cream'
I have been stealing this off my Mum to use (controversially) at night :P This cream feels very natural on your skin and leaves it very moisturised and extremely soft to touch. A little goes a long way so this pot will last you a long time too!
15ml= £4.00
50ml= £10.00

Strawberry/Mango(which I also have) Shower Gel
Oh my Goodness this smells AMAZING! (Speaking of which so do all Strawberry Body shop products) This shower gel lathers well and really makes you feel fresh and gives you that lovely clean feeling. I think the only bad thing I would have to say though would be that, with such a great smell I would LOVE it if the smell lasts longer which unfortunately, I didn't find with this product.
60ml= £2.00
250ml= £4.00 <BARGAINALERT!

Strawberry Puree Body LotionThis is another of the Strawberry scented products I love. Although this is a body lotion I have mainly been using this for my hands when I play Bass Guitar (it rubs away the skin really fast) and so far, I have loved it and so have my band practise members :P They said it smelt of Calpol, which I didn't notice, but they really liked the creaminess and moisturisingness of it and so do I!
They have now changed the packaging but the prices are:
60ml= £3.00
250ml= £8.00

Atlas Mountain Rose Body Lotion
I really love this product, mainly because of the smell which kind of reminds me of flowers mixed with your typical cologne smell but anyway it smells really really good and the flowery part isn't like the 'Old Granny' flower smell, it's lovely and fresh and stays for a long long time so yes, I generally really like this product and it's smell and as a body lotion it's fairly good too!
This came in a gift box so all I know about prices is
250ml= £10.00

Japanese Cherry Blossom FragranceSo here's the thing, every year my Mum receives a Body Shop fragrance from someone, every year I fall in love with that fragrance, every year my Mum finds me in her room putting it on and at the end of every year, the fragrance ends up in my stocking :P
This smells so wonderful, literally like blossom and again, not an 'Old Granny' scent but a fresh, attractive scent that, as most Body Shop scents do, lasts a really long time. I love this product and it also comes in the form of Lotion, Shower Gel, Mist and Body Butter (which I NEED!)
50ml= £15.00 <Which I think is pretty expensive really

Born LippyThese are definitely my ALL TIME FAVOURITE pot lip balms and they are just Brilliant. I have Strawberry at the moment but I am DYING to try the others: Watermelon, Guava, Satsuma, Raspberry and Passion berry, (don't they just sound wonderful already?) These lip balms leave your lips with slight colour but long lasting moisture and a brilliant taste so I end up just licking it all off anyway :P I highly recommend this to YOU ALL!!!
1 pot (10ml)= £2.00 <BARGAINALERT!
Thank- you SO much to anyone who has been kind enough to stumble across my blog and read this, sorry I haven't posted in a while and it would mean the WORLD to me if you decided to follow me! But if you don't, I perfectly understand :) I hope this has also provided guidance to anyone about to venture to Body Shop, it is well worth the while and I hope to be writing to you all again soon!
Happy March 11th 2013, the day Animal Testing for cosmetics was banned,
Lucy Xx

Outfit of the Day- 21.2.13

My Outfit Today

The outfit I wore today is plain and simple and really not even that fashionable but is just a starter so I can get the hang of that sort of thing :)
Jumper- New Look £15
This is my favourite Jumper. I really like the bottle green colour and cropped sleeves :)

Jeans- Primark £9
These Jeans are part of the Primark Super Skinny range, as you can see they are 'well-worn' :P and have faded a bit but are still my favourite pair of jeans :)

Socks- Primark £3
I love the aztec-y pattern on these socks and they are thick so are great for winter wear. They also came with a pair of speckledy grey socks with pink toes :)

Bracelets- Lipsy, Unknown, Unknown
The bracelet on the left is from my friend Rebecca as a Birthday present (Thank-you!) and has beautiful pearly beads connected with black thread
The bracelet in the middle was given to my Mum and I kind of 'borrowed' it :P I like the colours on it and it reminds me of precious stones
The bracelet on the right is from Lipsy and it is a shame that, in the photo, you can't see round the other side, where the glory lies, but I am lazy and can't be bothered to take another photo :P Around the bracelet there are beautiful turquoise and silver beads and it may well be one of my favourite bracelets :)

Thank you SO much for reading my very first 'Outfit of the Day' post! Your views and comments mean SO much to me Xx
